Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine

Department of  Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine is headed by Professor of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. There are 4 senior physiotherapists and 3 physiotherapists and 5 junior physiotherapists in the Physiotherapy Section. Occupational Therapy Section and Orthotics-Prosthetics Sections have 1 member each. The department is located on the ground floor of the New OPD Block. On an average 250-300 patients receive daily physiotherapy consultation and treatment in the OPD and  wards. The department deals with persons suffering from pain, weakness, deformities etc. due to orthopaedic or neuromuscular disorders at any age. The department offers excercise therapy, electro therapy, occupational therapy, aids & appliances and functional restoration.
