PET Centre-Dept of Nuclear Medicine

The Advanced PET-CT Facility was inaugurated by Honorable Health Minister Dr Harsh Wardhan.

The facility with a Biographm CT PET-CT scanner having 3 rings of PET detectors and 64 slice CT is the latest addition to the department.Biographm CT's design includes a large 78 cm bore, short 135 cm tunnel and 227 kg table capacity which supports the examination of a heavier patient population, allow for easier patient positioning, offer space for additional therapy accessories, and help increase patient comfort. A state-of-the-art robotic arm-assisted PET/CT guided intervention device, MAXIOTM was also installed. This device provides real-time 3D visualization of lesions for planning PET/CT-guided biopsies with a stereotactic arm for interventional procedures involving multi-angle, multi-needle placements.

New Procedure added:

1.  18F-Sodium Fluoride PET-CT for pre-operative assessment of bone viability after electrical burns of the scalp.

2.  Trans  gluteal automated robotic arm assisted 68Ga-prostate specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computed tomography guided percutaneous prostate biopsies.
